
Telefónica and ATCSC partner to boost cybersecurity
Telefonica Tech has joined hands with Advanced Technology & Cybersecurity Company LLC (ATCSC), the cybersecurity wing of STC Saudi Arabia, to enhance cybersecurity solutions through using their capabilities in the development of new products and solutions.
With this, the strategic bond will enable both the companies to share the best course of action on Managed Security Services, Advanced Professional Services, and Threat Intelligence Information.

Rames Sarwat, International Markets Sales VP at Telefónica Tech, highlighted the fact that in this rapid digital transformation age, it is necessary for companies to equip themselves with the most advanced cybersecurity services in order to protect their assets. He further added that the collaboration with ATCSC is a step towards sharing knowledge on the best practices for the identification and resolution of threats in their respective markets, which is very important in the current scenario of the international expansion of businesses. He states it to be a move further to reinforce Telefónica Tech’s strategy, helping it to lead the cybersecurity market.
Telefónica Tech is an Intelligent Managed Security Services Provider operating in various geographical locations that offer full cyber services from iMSS and MDR (Managed Detection & Response) to consulting, which includes hardware and software reselling.
ATCSC was recently started by Saudi Telecom company with the objective to serve as an independent company that will facilitate all business sectors through advanced cybersecurity services and solutions. As the Cybersecurity counterpart of the group, ATCSC plans to look into to the Public Sector, Enterprise & SME customers of the region.
VP of Product Mgmt. and Marketing at ATCSC, Abdulrahman AlManea, emphasized the importance of updates in the digital transformation era and pointed out that during the COVID pandemic, many organization around the world had to take immediate actions to expedite their digital transformation journey along with adopting new methods of doing business.
He further stated that these rapid changes had widened the surface area of attack which was evident by an analysis by ATCSC indicating a 350% increase of DDoS attacks in 2020 as compared to 2019, targeting customers from Saudi Arabia. So as a measure to help and protect their clients, he considered it to be their duty to offer the best cybersecurity products and services. The VP also portrayed enthusiasm by stating they are thrilled for the collaboration with Telefonica Tech, where both the companies play an important role in serving their respective regions.
